    Hey Everyone!

Since iOS 5's release yesterday I've been "probing" around in iOS 5's filesystem and noticed some changes with how images are handled and how we are now going to theme them. So i figured i would start a little thread where we can all use our collective knowledge base to help others in adding their own themes to iOS 5.

To Start off , there was a recently released "beta" for Winterboard that is available to install via SSH or through iFile @ apt.saurik.com , The build for this new version is 0.9.3900-1 . I am currently using it on my iPod Touch 4th Gen , and for now it is working beautifuly , however there is still *NO* .Plist support as of now.

So here is a quick list of some of the changes and "tweaks" i was able to accomplish whilst trying to theme iOS 5.

1.) To change the Dock you must navigate to this path

    "/private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.springboard.sharedimagecache/Persistent"

and delete the "SBDockBG@2x.cptbitmap" cache image then you will be able to theme the dock after a respring.

2.) Since there is still no .plist support in this new winterboard beta , i have devised a clever way of
    *Hiding the dock labels*

    Navigate to var/stash/Applications

step 2 locate the app you want to hide the label on.

    *Example*

For Mail.app you will navigate to this path

    var/stash/applications/MobileMail.app

then you will proceed to open "English.lproj"

Then you will need to open "InfoPlist.strings" with the text editor

now to make the label hidden you will delete everything in the key "CFBundleIdentifier = "Mail" "

so for instance making it " " will hide the label

repeat for every app on the dock

    then Respring.

3.) There are other little Changes to icon names and such as the icon for mail used to be "icon@2x.png" and is now "Icon@2x.png"

There are little small changes like these all over the filesystem and I encourage everyone to post their findings here so we all can theme and enjoy iOS 5.

If anyone needs my help , please don't hesitate to ask.

    Thanks!

Hey Josh as of right now here are the image name changes of what's current in the theme, there are other images that i am seeing that will need to be added to the theme to make it complete..

    BarLCD@2x.png is now "BarLCD@2x~iphone.png"

    bottombarbkgrnd@2x.png

    The Sliders…

bottombarknobgrey@2x.png (includes green , red) all have the "~iphone.png" after the "2x"

    *Example*

    "barbottomknobgrey@2x~iphone.png"

    There is also now "BulletinWellLock@2x.png"

And the infamous "WellLock@2x.png" now has the "~iphone.png"

    *WellLock@2x~iphone.png*

Try renaming the images and do a respring and see how it works..

    *UPDATE*

I was able to rename and replace all the images manually within iFile and i had to create a blank 35x35 "BulletinWellLock@2x.png" image and here is what i came up with …

    *UPDATE 2*

Editing the "SpringBoard.strings" still work.. updated photo..
