First off, let us apologize for the 17 hours of down time. We sincerely apologize, and we hope that you all aren't too mad at us. ;)
Macristocracy is now up and running at 110%. The login issue has been fixed and you should have no problem posting as well.
However, we are recommending that everyone please clear their M* cookies to be sure that they have no further problems. To do so, please read the solution below.
The Solution:
In order to clear your M* cookies please follow these steps:
(Safari Users)
1. Open Safari Preferences
2. Security Tab
3. Show Cookies Button
4. Search "Macristocracy"
5. REMOVE ALL
6. Restart Safari
FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
The Reason:
Yesterday, Macristocracy was moved to the root of our domain. We have been ready for a while to make this happen but we weren't quite prepared. We found out through this experience that a lot of images within our forum have absolute links which are handled by our MYSQL database. This caused a huge problem with the forum and is something that we must work out before we can move M* to the root directory.
The Issue:
When we changed the domain url to root, our cookies got scrambled. This is what caused the issues with the login system and with users who were currently logged in not being able to post.
Our sincere apologies,
The M* Staff
P.S. This was mostly Michael Schultz's fault! Go yell at him! But be nice, he fixed it too.
haha, i was wondering why it wouldn't let me post earlier.
Glad its all back up and running.
This is just because Michael spent the last 16 hours playing Plants vs Zombies :D
Oskar - Who me?
Glad it's all fixed, although I barely experienced any issues yesterday at all. :P
I didn't experience any issue. Glad it's all fixed now.
Didn't notice anything, but glad of the root improvement :)
